MVP and Cigna
During this time of social distancing we, more than ever, need a way to process all that is going on and how it has effected our lives. I am accepting new clients using a Telehealth site to conduct sessions.
Feeling misunderstood? Having difficulty relating? There are times when people get stuck and need help identifying how to proceed and move on. I work with individuals, couples and families through a systemic perspective. I found that creating a comfortable, relaxed environment where people don't feel as if they are in a clinical setting helps reduce anxiety and the fear of counseling.
Times of transition can also bring unbalance in a person, couple or family. These can include, births, deaths, change of jobs or moving. Signs of depression, stress or anxiety can also present at other life transitions such as empty nest, retirement or assisting in or moving into assisted living or a nursing home.
As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) I focus on communication, strength and community. Sharing our life stories and developing techniques can help get unstuck. Following theories and techniques that include Narrative, Solution-Focused, Structural and Collaborative theories, we can identify the factors that are contributing to your issues. We can complete assessments and create goals while following a treatment plan to bring you back to a healthy state.
I primarily work in private practice within Bloom Wellness in Churchville NY. Bloom Wellness is the 1st wellness center on the west side of Rochester. We provide counseling, yoga, workshops, products and more. I also am a counselor that can be found on Betterhelp.com serving New York State.
I am a graduate of Capella University where I studied Marriage and Family Therapy and have a certificate in Contemporary Issues in Mental Health Counseling. Many years before then I completed my degree in psychology from SUNY Brockport.
